I’ve had this wedding booked for over a year, but I’ve been anticipating it for much longer than that! Heather and Julian are two of the kindest, most loving, generous, fun people ever and I’m absolutely certain that they were made for each other. I could go on and on about them, but then my baby would wake up and I’d never get this blog post finished. Besides, I know you’re really here for the photos! I knew that when I was shooting the wedding of two artists to expect some pretty awesome decor, but never in a million years did I imagine all of THIS! When I arrived at The Parson’s Table in Aledo I walked in, set my bags down, and asked myself out loud, “IS THIS REAL LIFE?”! I can’t even wrap my brain around the amount of time, creativity, and preparation it took to put together and event as magical as this one. There were flowers, handmade garlands, hand cut streamers, antiques, beautiful sayings, and little pieces of Heather and Julian’s life together on every single surface inside and outside the venue. Each centerpiece was unique and told a little story about Heather or Julian. If I didn’t know any better, I would assume that they hired an amazing wedding designer, but they didn’t. Every single detail you see here was designed and handmade by Heather with the help of her sweet family and friends. It was a wedding wonderland!

Waiting and praying for that special guy for my niece paid off BIG time. This wedding was the most beautiful wedding I’ve been to, and that’s a lot. The special handcrafted deco and themes put it over the top. I watched day after day, from early to very late or no sleep as Heather’s mom (and I big sister) poured her heart into making this everything Heather wanted. There are simply too many creative and talented people in the families family that I was finally realized, I had to be adopted! Shanna, you captive so much more than people, places, and things….2 loving families coming together for a lifetime. Good job Hans!ReplyCancel

I feel like I’ve been looking forward to Allison and Sean’s La Buena Vista Vineyards wedding FOREVER, when it’s really only been a few months. I just loved these two so much from our first meeting. After getting to spend some more time with them and their sweet dog, Hank, for their engagement photos the anticipation went into overdrive! Allison has got some seriously great style and I just knew that would spill over into their wedding day and boy, did it! From her gorgeous one shoulder Vera Wang wedding gown that she smartly accented with a metallic beaded belt from BHLDN (SWOON!), to her braided messy up-do, and jeweled sandals, she looked like she stepped right out of a bridal magazine! The guys all looked sharp in their vests and ties and the girls perfectly complimented each other in their J Crew bridesmaid dresses. We started the day at the Renata Salon and Day Spa in Grapevine where the girls had their hair and makeup done. Everyone was so sweet and attentive there! We took bridal party photos at the nearby Grapevine Botanical Gardens and then headed down the street to the La Buena Vida Vineyards for the wedding. Sarah and Wendy from Birds of a Feather were there to make sure everything looked fabulous and ran smoothly. There was not a single detail overlooked by these gals! Allison and Sean were married in front of the fountain in a ceremony that made us all laugh and cry and then danced the night away before making their grand exit with tossed dried lavender. It could not have been a more perfect day!

  • […] Our lovely associate planner, Sarah Beth, coordinated this vineyard wedding for Allison and Sean in Grapevine, TX.  It was a shaky week, threats of rain mixed with heat, so Sarah ended up tenting the space to provide some relief for all of the guests and everything turned out beautiful!  Here are some shots from Shanna Leigh, to view the full wedding go HERE. I wasn’t able to shoot Jennifer’s wedding because I was actually IN her wedding a whole 11 days before I had my son! But I did have the honor of shooting her bridal portraits at her gorgeous Mediterranean style wedding venue in Colleyville. Jennifer had quite a large wedding and had a hard time finding a venue in the Fort Worth area that would accommodate more than 200 people. Piazza In The Village did that and more! She was even able to have her rehearsal dinner there! Everyone was so helpful from day one assisting her with everything and really just helping to take a lot of the headache out of wedding planning for her. Jennifer’s bridal portraits are a perfect example of just how helpful it can be to get all dolled up in your wedding dress with your hair and makeup done. If you look closely at the photos you’ll see they were shot on two different days. After wearing her dress the first day it really felt like it needed to be taken in a little more. Had she not done bridal portraits before hand, she might have ended up having to tug at her dress all day on her wedding day to make sure it stayed up! See, bridal portraits are just as practical as they are fun! When we were shopping for her wedding dress, she ended up falling in love with the very first gown she tried on! Don’t worry, we didn’t let her buy it without trying on a bunch of other gowns first. There were lots of great gowns, but none that we could hear her gasping over before she was even all the way zipped up! She was looking for something classic, formal, and elegant and she got that and so much more with this dress with it’s trumpet silhouette, scalloped lace details, sweetheart neckline, and beaded belt ! It’s by Kathy Ireland for Mon Cheri and she found it with the help of the ladies at Bliss Bridal in Fort Worth.

I had Emily and Chase’s wedding on the books for over a year and it was worth every bit of that wait! Emily and I would meet up for dinner (okay happy hours) to gab about wedding stuff and usually end up hours later realizing we hadn’t really talked much about weddings, but we sure did get our gossip on. I love this girl! The whole day was so relaxed and fun and just absolutely perfect. The Bell Tower Chapel & Gardens in Fort Worth was absolutely perfect for the vintage style wedding day she planned so perfectly.

Emily spoiled her bridesmaids with robes from Pretty Plum Sugar. I’ve seen these robes all over wedding blogs and recognized them immediately! They were perfect. So soft and gorgeous and they sure looked great in the getting ready photos.A bride in her pretty plum sugar robe and her two dogs on her wedding day.pintopinterest

I’m totally jealous that Emily has a picture with her furbabies on her wedding day. These sweet babies are Bella and Red and are were so sweet! We snapped this photo right before heading to the chapel. The handsome groom putting on the jacket of his gray suit.pintopinterest

Chase and the guys all looked so dapper in their gray suits and vests and they really complimented the gray J. Crew bridesmaid dresses and Emily’s custom gown from Bliss Bridal. It also didn’t hurt that the entire bridal party was gorgeous!

Emily worked so hard gathering antique furniture, luggage, typewriters, vases and other touches to give her wedding a touch of vintage glam. It all tied in so perfectly with the venue!

I shot this wedding just five weeks after giving birth to my sweet son. I always teared up a bit before at weddings during the first dance and sometimes during the father daughter dance. But it wasn’t until having a son of my own that seeing the Groom dancing with his mother had me choked up. I’m talking eyes stinging, tears streaking down my face, can’t see to focus my camera choked up! It was the sweetest moment of the day for me. Motherhood has changed the way I see lots of things, but I guess I never anticipated that it would change the way I saw things at work!

Now that I’ve been done with my maternity leave for quite some time, I’ve got LOTS of updates coming your way. We’ll start with Emily’s insanely gorgeous bridal portraits and later this week I’ll show you her sweet vintage styled wedding at The Bell Tower Chapel and Gardens in Fort Worth. We started Emily’s bridal portrait session at a luxury bedding and decor boutique in Plano called The Iron Bed. This place smelled just as heavenly as it looked and definitely didn’t make it much fun to go back home to my Target bedding, HAHA! It’s impossible to take a bad photo of Emily, especially when she’s all glammed up with her loose curls and custom one of a kind wedding gown from Bliss Bridal Salon in Fort Worth.

Next we headed over to one of my absolute FAVORITE places to shoot at. M Group Studio is located inside the historic McKinney Cotton Mill and is a photographer’s dream with it’s modern decor, century old wood floors, exposed brick walls, and floor to ceiling windows that let in the yummiest natural light no matter what time of day you’re shooting. Beautiful bride Emily in her custom wedding dress by Bliss Bridal of Fort Worth, Texas posing for her bridal portraits at the modern rustic M Group Studio in McKinney, Texas with her gorgeous statement necklace and loose curls.pintopinterestBeautiful bride Emily in her custom wedding dress by Bliss Bridal of Fort Worth, Texas posing for her bridal portraits at the modern rustic M Group Studio in McKinney, Texas with her gorgeous statement necklace loose curls.pintopinterestBeautiful bride Emily in her custom wedding dress by Bliss Bridal of Fort Worth, Texas posing for her bridal portraits at the modern rustic M Group Studio in McKinney, Texas with her gorgeous statement necklace and bouquet of wild flowers.pintopinterest

We finished off our session at nearby Erwin park in McKinney for a few outdoor portraits with her cowboy boots and wild flower bouquet. You should have seen us nearly all pee our pants when we heard the unmistakable sound of gunshots in the distance! No worries though, we finally figured out that there was a gun range nearby…or at least that’s what we told ourselves!
