Heather has become a dear friend over the years. You know, the kind of friend you don’t even have to clean your house for! I’ve been so honored to get to document the big things in her life from engagement photos, to bridal portraits, to her gorgeous wedding, a new house, a pregnancy announcement, and now her maternity photos! This sweet baby girl is so lucky to have Heather and Julian as parents and I cannot wait to document her entrance into the world in a few weeks.

I met this mommy 6 years ago while we were working at the same restaurant. I remember one of many late nights closing the bar and waiting for our manager to check us out at 2am and I had just booked my very first birth to photograph. It was a going to be a water birth at Gentle Beginnings Birth Center in Hurst and I was so excited! Neither of us were anywhere near having kids of our own, yet I vividly remember Rhianna saying “that’s where I want to have my babies!” Photographing that first birth changed my life in so many ways. It opened my eyes to the awesomeness that is midwifery care and eventually I went on to have my own babies at Gentle Beginnings. Yesterday Rhianna got to realize that dream, too. Rhianna, you are a rock star! I hope these photos give you even the slightest glimpse of the strength we witnessed!
It was at this time that Cheryl, Rhianna’s amazing midwife looked up and said, “Dad, come catch your baby!”
R&J – thank you for trusting me with these memories. It was truly an honor! Sabrina and I met while living in the same building back when we were young, single, and well rested ladies in our mid twenties (crap, that makes me sound old). We bonded over our questionable neighbors and then kept in touch over myspace (see…aging myself again). We each met awesome guys, settled down, got married, and ended up buying houses not too far from each other! But, what we truly bonded over was motherhood. She had a baby, then I had one two months later. Then I had another baby and then she had one three months later. So, basically, Sabrina…it’s your turn!
This boy has totally stolen my heart, y’all! Meet sweet baby Greyson. At first I thought he looked just like his mommy, but now that I’m looking at these photos more I think I see a lot of his Auntie, too! One of the greatest things about getting to meet him was getting to see Brittani and Mikey as parents. They’re two of the sweetest, hardest working people and this whole mommy and daddy thing has appeared to come totally natural to them. Enjoy the photos of this sweet squish!
